The Iconic Puzzle Game Didn't Succeed at This Gaming Ceremony — Another Award Type Could Fix That

Each time a significant honors show draws close, there’s always a demand to include fresh award types to honor unsung work and delight the passions of followers who have specialized interests.

Another commentator previously argued advocating for terror-themed awards. That would be fantastic. So would strategy board titles, representing a passionate advocate's mission. But they will have to forgive me when I prioritize because like all dedicated enthusiasts, there's a strong justification backing this proposal stands as crucial and important of all. This is the request: There should be an award type for logic-based games.

Organizing Gaming Categories

Classifying creative works is not a science; it’s very subjective, and it will always start arguments and end in fuzzy definitions. There’s a reason movie academies avoid this approach. Yet it remains an unavoidable compromise in the world of interactive entertainment, that demonstrate such variety they hardly constitute as a single art form.

For the full spectrum of achievement in video games to gain proper attention, while allowing diverse titles to receive proper recognition, specific award classifications remain vital.

Present Award Structure

Leading game ceremonies presently include classifications covering Action-oriented games, Action/Adventure, RPG experiences, Fighting, Simulation and strategy titles, and Sports/Racing games. Between them, these award types successfully include numerous genres, and you can find room for numerous titles.

This doesn't apply to puzzle games. No suitable classification appears to accommodate them. Think about these recent excellent titles, each quite distinct: the architectural riddles in a particular game, fast-paced pattern recognition of another game, engaging interpersonal challenges of a third title. What category would fit them between these six categories? Unfortunately, nowhere.

Recognition Challenges

Many instances occur outstanding logic titles launched regularly lacking appropriate categories in entertainment awards, if they accidentally match for categories like Mobile Game, VR/AR Game, or the intensely contested Indie races.

  • A renowned logic title received no recognition in any category in 2014
  • A different innovative game was excluded during that ceremony
  • Popular arranging title was overlooked recently
  • Just some logic titles barely qualified for independent or mobile categories

Importance of Logic Titles

Commonly they're small games, yet the craft in brain-teasers is of massive significance. Iconic mobile puzzle games rank among most engaged experiences globally continuing this trend for many years.

The iconic tile-matching title challenges famous sandbox experiences competing to become highest-selling title ever; it additionally competes for top gaming experience. Brain-teasers form essential building blocks for gaming as medium, while interacting across multiple categories.

The Solution and Justification

Logic titles wouldn't face that issue. It would be easy to populate multiple candidates interesting, varied, worthy titles annually without trouble — actually, with challenge, given the need to exclude numerous deserving experiences.

Restating the point, these are games without proper classification during prominent ceremonies. Logic title developers function at the challenging frontier game development, creating some of the purest expressions of gaming itself. Similar to cinema stunt performers, they merit acknowledgment. Let’s not keep them waiting 35 years.
